No Such Thing as Perfect: Get Over It and Move On

For all the perfectionist out there, just stop. You need to take a deep breath and re-evaluate some things. While you were so focused on getting things perfect and just right, people were actually getting things done. This is not to say that you should only do things halfway just to get them done but rather find that sweet spot that works and prevents you from getting analysis paralysis. First of all, have deadlines and stick to them. You have to hold yourself accountable for getting things done on time and setting it in stone instead of sand. That mobile application project cannot sit around forever while you tweak little parts of it to get it just right, there should be a different time for it. When you’re about to hit send on that epic email proposal, picking up the phone to call that first investor or hitting publish on your website -- those moments are supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. That’s where the magic happens, and don’t you dare back out.

  4. I use cloud services to be able to back my data. That way I can always go back to where I was if I do not like the current direction.
